Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! We, at Elder Armor USA, wish all of you a bountiful harvest this year and more blessings to come in the next year. It’s the season to be grateful for the blessings we received and challenges we faced this year whether at work, in business, or with family and friends. Blessings give us joy while challenges give us life lessons.
Why Thanksgiving is special for Elder Armor
The true story of Thanksgiving may be laden with controversies. But for us at Elder Armor, it’s a special day because it was over Thanksgiving dinner a few years ago when the company was conceived in an effort to protect our seniors.
Tony’s (of Elder Armor) mother-in-law has worked for years caring for the old, and because of her attachment to these seniors, it can be difficult for her when some of them pass away or are admitted to the hospital and die.
Tony and her mother-in-law have since had a conversation about the predicament of the elders. How inury from falls is the major cause of this problem, what they can do to help them, what needs to be protected, and how to protect it, among other things. And that is how the notion for the Elder Armor USA came about.
In the next year and a half, Tony developed the idea and ran it with a manufacturer to create a viable product that can help seniors eliminate, or at least minimize, the direct impact of a fall. It took more years to perfect the product, ensuring that the curves and padding are in the right places and that the products are actually comfortable enough for seniors to wear.
Positive feedback from those who tried Elder Armor
In order to test the effectiveness of the Elder Armor products, Tony has given out the initial batch to people who he knows can benefit from them. So far, he has received a lot of positive feedback and people actually love it.
For example, 78-year-old “Larry” still cuts trees for a living and keeps on falling almost once a week due to his age and tripping on rocks, etc. While testing the Elder Armor, there was no damage or injury to his hips when he fell even if his hips have undergone surgery in the past year. His jeans may have ripped and his skin scratched but Elder Armor has protected his hips from the impact of the fall. He simply bounced up from the fall.
A couple of Elder Armor USA hip protector were also delivered to a hospital in Minnesota through a friend for testing, and the elderly patients who used them loved and praised the product.
These positive responses to our products have strengthened our conviction that we’ve created something truly valuable that can help our seniors to continue enjoying life without worry and can protect them from the devastating effects of a fall. Bear in mind that for the elderly, even a simple fall can be deadly due to the fragility of their bones.
A goal to protect our elders
This Thanksgiving, we wish you’ll enjoy a bountiful harvest and continue to have a blessed, safe, and healthy life in the years to come. We also aim to spread the word about Elder Armor products as far as possible with our dedication to ensuring our seniors can continue to enjoy a worry-free and comfortable life.
History of Thanksgiving
As what we’ve always been taught at school, and basically most of our life, Thanksgiving started as a harvest feast of the Pilgrims of Plymouth with the Wampanoag tribe in 1621 as a way for the colonists to give thanks to the American natives for teaching them how to grow crops and hunt for beavers in order to survive the harsh environment they settled in.
In the past years, however, different stories have surfaced about the true history of Thanksgiving. One of these is that it’s the day the Pilgrims gave thanks to God for the immediate prosperity they experienced when they took the paradigm shift from a failing socialist community that caused indolence to a capitalistic one that encouraged industriousness and hard work.
